Check Your Motives - Why Am I Here?

Jesus had a posture of invitation in every moment. Even when He was griping at the Pharisees or the Sadducees, He was trying to invite them into the truth, but they couldn't see it even right in front of their eyes. He was not accusing, He was inviting.  
 
The invitation is to come alongside and align with Him. Are you ready? Check your motives.

Foundation of Authority - Why Am I Here?

Today's episode is from a sermon I preached a few weeks ago and is part of the Why Am I Here series. Today I talked about the living in authority. 
 
We have to understand there are two kingdoms at odds. There is the kingdom of heaven and there is the kingdom of this world. It is not flesh and blood, not people - it is the devil's kingdom.
 
Today, we are going to talk about how John is defining the differences. He's defining what the enemy's foundation is set upon. So it says, do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in them. We have to stand firm in His authority.

To Be Or Not to Be - Why Am I Here?

Today's episode is from a sermon I preached a few weeks ago and is part of the Why Am I Here series. Last week we talked about how we tend to sit in the slave or victim mentality. 
 
This mentality is not holding on to you - you're still holding on to it. If we truly believe Jesus when He said, I came to set the captives free, then we would say, Jesus, I want you to unlock this chain. He unlocks the chain, but we just sit there, or we say, "Jesus, you're going to take the chain off?" And He is wondering why we don't remove it ourselves.
 
We get really good at wearing these handcuffs. I even bedazzle them to match my outfit. Some people even continue to wear the chains because they've become their armor, and they protect them from themselves and from others. You never allow the injured places to heal.

You Are Not a Victim - Why Am I Here?

Today's episode is from a sermon I preached a few weeks ago and is part of the Why Am I Here series. Today I talked about how things are not what they seem. 
First, you are not a victim. God said, the kingdom needs to know as a kingdom citizen, you're not a victim. 
We're going to address the victim mentality. We're going to address the poverty mentality. And we're going to address the slavery mentality. I believe these are three things that the enemy has put on us to hold us back from being kingdom citizens and operating the way we've been called to do.

The Gift of Hope: You Can Be a Star

In the beautiful nativity story, we find a piece of the puzzle. The three wise men searching for Jesus and led by a star to a place that's foreign to them, to a country who has a king that they're in search of. A country that does even know the king yet exists. See, these are three wise men who are steeped in wisdom, maybe sorcery and mysticism from a place from the east, the Persian empire.  When the wise men showed up, when they sought out Jesus, he was already born, perhaps two years old by the time they found him.
 
What I want to focus on today in this sermon is that they were looking for him. I think there are people in the world around us today who are looking for Jesus, people who have searched for answers in all the wrong places. Enjoy this sermon with us today.
