In Search of a Village
Thursday Sep 14, 2023
Thursday Sep 14, 2023
Welcome back to another episode of In the Red. We're thrilled you've joined us today as we dive deep into a topic that resonates with all of us: friendship. I'm your host, Anthony Hart, and I want to start by sharing something close to my heart.
In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to feel isolated. Post-COVID, we've seen a spotlight shine on the issue of isolation, revealing its impact on our lives. It's a space where negativity breeds, where loneliness takes root, and where we often find ourselves cut off from the people who could lend a helping hand.
But what if I told you that you hold the key to breaking free from isolation? What if I shared a concept that has transformed my life and the lives of those in my circle?
In this episode, we embark on a journey to explore the value of friendship, connection, and community. I've witnessed firsthand how society's obsession with speed, individualism, and materialism has eroded the sense of community that once thrived in our villages. But we can change that.
Together, we'll rediscover the power of true friendship and the concept of the village. It's about recognizing that every person brings unique gifts to the table. Just as in a traditional village where individuals have their own strengths and contributions, we, too can come together to support and uplift each other.
We'll discuss the importance of actively seeking friendship, not as a means of self-pity or therapy, but as an opportunity to grow together. It starts with looking in the right places, examining your own attitude, and understanding what you bring to the table.
And let's not forget the greatest friend of all, the one who laid down his life for us, Jesus. His love and friendship are foundational, and embracing them can transform the way we connect with others.
So, if you've been on the quest for true friendship or have felt the weight of isolation, this episode is for you. Join us as we explore the journey from searching for friends to becoming a friend, and discover the beauty of building your own village.
Thank you for tuning in to In the Red with Anthony Hart. Let's explore the transformative power of friendship together. Stay connected, stay inspired, and remember, you're never alone when you're part of a village.

Your Mouth Will Reveal You
Thursday Aug 31, 2023
Thursday Aug 31, 2023
Welcome to another captivating episode of "In the Red Podcast" with your host, Anthony Hart. Here we are again, you and me, ready to dive into some thought-provoking insights. But hold on, this isn't going to be a run-of-the-mill exciting topic. I'm thrilled to be with you today, as always, sharing thoughts that stem from the world around us. I'm Anthony Hart, and I'm about to explore a topic that's both challenging and transformative – "Your Mouth Will Reveal You."
If you know anything about me, you'll realize that I thrive on fresh perspectives. It's about breaking free from echo chambers and expanding our horizons. We often tend to surround ourselves with like-minded people, but that's where we limit our growth. The danger lies in becoming stagnant, locked in our ways, and excusing it with "that's just who I am." But let's face it, that statement often covers up a lousy attitude or self-imposed limitations that drain our vitality and drive those around us crazy.
Being around people who continually demand, drain, and exhibit a needy attitude can be suffocating. As a pastor, I genuinely love helping people and walking through life with them. But even I find it challenging to pastor my friends because I see the value in having relationships where relaxation, mutual growth, and genuine connection flourish.
The key is balance, surrounding ourselves with friends who uplift and enrich our lives, rather than solely relying on us for support. I've found friendships where neediness isn't the defining characteristic. Jay, a friend who's had his seasons of need and support, stands as an example of such a balanced relationship.
So, let's dive into today's theme: "Your Mouth Will Reveal You." You might be thinking, "Why should I care about my words?" Well, here's why: Out of the abundance of your heart, your mouth speaks. Your words carry weight – they reflect the essence of who you are. Think about it, have you ever noticed the disconnect between what someone says and how they truly feel? That's where the problem lies.
But let's talk scripture for a moment, even if you're not big on that. I'm here to provide insights that transcend boundaries. The Bible holds wisdom that often goes overlooked due to various reasons. We tend to weaponize it rather than embrace its life-affirming truths.
I've seen negativity on social media – a platform that's both a source of content and frustration. It's where I've found material for our discussions. Negative voices often shout the loudest, driven by insecurity and a desire to validate themselves by tearing others down. They react, attack, and argue, guided by an inner turmoil.
But here's the crux: "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." You might be wondering about the relevance of fruit and vegetables in all this. Well, bear with me. Fruit contains seeds, and when planted, they grow into more fruit-bearing trees. In essence, they perpetuate life. Similarly, your words can either spread life or destruction.
When you say you're a Christian, you're essentially claiming a platform. And platforms come with audiences. Your actions then are watched and evaluated by that audience. This leads us to the concept of fruit in Scripture, especially the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Let's not forget Peter – impulsive and imperfect. He's the rock upon which the church was built. Relationships are key to accountability – a relationship grants you access to hold someone accountable. It's not about public berating, but fostering growth.
So, I challenge you to examine your words and actions. Do they reflect life, positivity, and the fruit of the Spirit? Are you contributing to the positive voice, or are you perpetuating negativity? Your mouth will reveal you. Let's stand together, speak life, and make a lasting impact. This is Anthony Hart, signing off. Until next time, let's go.
Let's Go!

Here, we delve into the deepest corners of our minds, hearts, and spirits to have conversations that truly matter. Our goal is to challenge your perspective, inspire change, and empower you to overcome setbacks that life throws your way.
Embracing Self-Reflection: In a society that often prioritizes outward appearances and achievements, we tend to shy away from having authentic conversations with ourselves. Anthony Hart opens up the dialogue about why it's crucial to evaluate our own shortcomings, setbacks, and struggles. By facing these issues head-on, we set the stage for growth and transformation.
Divine Design and Higher Power: With eloquence, Anthony introduces the idea of a higher power intricately woven into the fabric of the universe. Exploring the beauty and complexity of nature, he invites listeners to consider the possibility of a divine creator. He challenges us to engage in a conversation with God, irrespective of our spiritual journey, emphasizing the idea that the ultimate creator knows us better than anyone else.
The Troubleshooting Guide for Life: Drawing parallels between our lives and troubleshooting manuals, Anthony highlights the Bible's significance as an "operator manual." Much like we consult a manufacturer's guide to fix a gadget, we can turn to the Bible for guidance on overcoming life's obstacles. This approach reminds us that we're not alone in our struggles and provides a roadmap for navigating challenges.
Power of Relationships: In one of the most compelling segments, Anthony delves into the importance of seeking conversations with the people around us. He challenges us to evaluate the impact of our inner circle on our journey. Are they helping us overcome, or inadvertently holding us back? This insight encourages us to surround ourselves with individuals who uplift, inspire, and contribute to our growth.
Navigating Setbacks with Fresh Perspective: Emphasizing the power of perspective, Anthony tackles the idea of recurring setbacks. By seeking new viewpoints and reevaluating our approach, we can break free from patterns that keep us stuck. He reminds us that each step towards change, no matter how small, moves us closer to our desired outcome.
Sharing the Journey: Anthony highlights the transformational impact of sharing our struggles and victories with others. Just as someone else's experience may provide the missing piece of information we need, our journey can serve as a guide for someone else. By supporting and learning from each other, we collectively overcome setbacks and embark on a path of growth.
Conclusion: As Anthony wraps up each episode, he leaves listeners with a strong sense of purpose. He encourages us to cast aside our doubts, embrace change, and rise above setbacks. The "In the Red" podcast is a reminder that setbacks are not the end of the road; they're setups for comebacks. Altar’D Living: From Death to Life
Thursday Jul 27, 2023
Thursday Jul 27, 2023
Welcome to the In the Red Podcast with Anthony Hart! In this episode, we dive deep into the transformative power of moments with God. Over the past few weeks, we explored Old Testament examples of people who encountered God and how it changed their lives. But, as we'll discover, these encounters were not one-time fixes; rather, they were stepping stones to growth.
Anthony shares a powerful insight: encountering God and experiencing a revelation of who He is can be life-changing for a season, but there's a deeper connection required for continued growth. The first encounter with God is essential, but it's not a "one-stop shop" where we get all the answers and never need anything more.
He uses relatable anecdotes to illustrate this point. He talks about the first moments with God, where we feel His love, mercy, and forgiveness, but how there comes a time when deeper understanding and revelation are needed to navigate different seasons of life.
Anthony adds an "Amen" to emphasize the significance of those altar-ing moments, noting that we shouldn't just seek to go back and relive them. Instead, we should recognize that we need more, a deeper connection with God as we grow in our faith.
Drawing parallels from personal experiences, the conversation delves into the maturing phase that occurs after meeting Christ. Just like meeting someone for the first time and needing a deeper revelation of their character as the relationship grows, our relationship with God demands ongoing spiritual growth.
The discussion takes us to Acts 17:24-27, where the Apostle Paul addresses non-believers in Athens, Greece. The scripture reminds us that God is ever-present, not far from us, and that we should seek Him with earnestness.
The conversation further explores Peter's journey and how he went from fear and doubt to unwavering faith. Moments of encounter with God brought transformation in Peter's life, leading him to a point of willingness to die for his faith, a joy and peace rooted in God's presence.
Through these stories, we uncover the nature of God, represented in three altar moments in the Old Testament: God as the Provider, God as the Banner, and God as Peace.
Anthony emphasizes that moments of encounter with God impart the fruit of the Spirit into our lives. Encounter moments aren't just moments of expectation but moments of impartation, where God's love, joy, and peace invade our hearts, transforming us from within.
As we journey with God, these moments of encounter leave a lasting impact. They define our understanding of God's goodness, and our personal testimonies become powerful declarations of His reality. With personal experiences and scriptural insights, this episode encourages listeners to seek deeper connections with God, embracing growth, and experiencing His transformative love and power. Join us as we explore the life-changing power of moments with God on the In the Red Podcast with Anthony Hart!
